Snow Day
City Center "Snow Day"
Recorded live to 2-Track January 12, 2011.
Vocals, loop of bass & drums, reel-to-reel, electronics.
I wonder sometimes if winter and summer are sworn enemies or secret lovers. A friend of mine always talked about how much he loved listening to "Heart of the Congos"and other super blissful, sunshiny dub records in the winter. It kind of fits, in a strange way. I often get weird winter-nostalgia in the summertime, and this song is about the vice-versa. My room-mate's cat went kinda wild this last summer and would be out in the sun all day, coming back inside from hunting delirious and deeply dehydrated. Have you ever seen a panting cat? It's really un-nerving. Panting dogs are pretty commonplace, but a crazy-eyed panting cat is really freaky.

just moved back to MI from the seattle area. it rains all the time. it really does. snow is not common, neither is sun. but the when summer shows up, it's like a giant resort.
i hear you. my reggae lp's are close by. it's odd but the music holds no season, to me, just power. those guys can sing about the most poverty stricken things, or about war, and it always sounds beautiful.

Very nice! Has a sweet yet disturbed Motown feel!
